The Texas Institute of Cardiology is looking to hire a Part-time/contract nuclear medicine technologist with flexible schedule.
Please only apply if you meet the following qualifications:
- At least 1 year experience performing Nuclear stress tests/Myocardial Perfusion Imaging.
- ARRT or NMTCB licensed Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
- BLS or ACLS certification required.
- Excellent communication skills and compassionate patient care provider.
- Ability to thoroughly explain imaging procedure to patient and answer any questions or concerns regarding study in a clear/concise manner.
- Follow all OSHA and radiation safety procedures.
- Manage hot lab and ensure dose calibrator, well counter, and any other necessary equipment is functioning properly prior to patient arrival.
- Perform all necessary QC on gamma camera.
- Proficiency in IV administration.
- Order appropriate radiopharmaceuticals & administer to patients upon arrival.
- Prep patients for stress tests and perform ECG/EKG monitoring during stress test.
- Ability to detect arrhythmias and ECG/EKG changes during stress test and respond appropriately.
- Experience performing Exercise and Pharmaceutical stress tests.
- Monitor patients during stress test for adverse drug reactions and administer. appropriate medication under physician's direction.
- Ability to thoroughly complete MPI studies in a timely fashion.
- Experience with operating appropriate equipment, such as but not limited to, IS2 pulse Gamma Camera and GE Case treadmill system.
- eClinical Works EMR experience preferred.
